Trust & Safety

1. Our Commitment

Cr8tivehub exists to connect creative professionals with the people who want to work with them. That only works if the platform is safe — for the creators showing their work, for the organisations engaging them, and for the audiences who watch live streams.

This policy describes:

  • What we don't allow.
  • How we find and remove it.
  • How you can report things to us.
  • What happens after a report.
  • How you can appeal a decision we make about you.

If something on Cr8tivehub feels wrong, tell us. Reporting takes a few taps; the consequences of not reporting can be much worse.

2. What We Don't Allow

Our full list of prohibitions is in the Acceptable Use section of the Cr8tivehub Terms of Service. The categories below are the ones we enforce hardest:

3. How We Find Violations

3.1 Automated detection

  • Google Cloud Vision scans every uploaded image and video frame for adult, violent, and unsafe content. Material that crosses our threshold is hidden from public view automatically and queued for human review.
  • Hash matching — material previously confirmed as CSAM or NCII is blocked from re-upload using PhotoDNA-compatible hashes (rolling out in stages).
  • Behavioural signals flag obvious abuse: mass-messaging from new accounts, login from sanctioned regions, repeated reports against the same account.

3.2 Reports from users

You can report content from every surface that displays it:

  • The red “Report CSAM/NCII” button — for child-safety and image-abuse issues.
  • The standard “Report” button — for everything else.
  • The web at cr8tivehub.com/report.
  • Email: safety@cr8tivehub.com.
  • For copyright specifically: copyright@cr8tivehub.com.

You can report anonymously. We will not share your identity with the person you reported.

3.3 External notifications

We act on reports from law enforcement, child-safety organisations, the Film and Publication Board, the Information Regulator, and qualified independent researchers.

4. How We Respond

Every report goes through:

  1. Triage — within minutes for CSAM/NCII; within 24 hours for other categories.
  2. Action on content — hide, restrict, remove, or restore.
  3. Action on the account — warning, strike, suspension, or termination.
  4. Notification — both the reporter (where possible) and the affected user are told what happened.

Decisions are made by trained human reviewers. Automation flags content; humans decide consequences (except for CSAM hash matches and obvious spam, where we act automatically and a human reviews afterwards).

5. The Strike System

StrikesConsequence
1Warning. The content is removed and you are notified. The strike expires after 12 months if you have no further violations.
2Temporary suspension. Your account is suspended for a period set by the severity of the violation (typically 7–30 days).
3Permanent ban. Your account is permanently terminated.

Some violations bypass the strike system entirely and result in immediate permanent termination:

  • CSAM or NCII (always).
  • Sustained, targeted harassment of a specific person.
  • Doxxing.
  • Use of the platform to facilitate criminal activity.
  • A confirmed second account opened after a previous permanent ban.

6. Appeals

If you disagree with a moderation decision about you — a content removal, a strike, a suspension, or a ban — you can appeal.

How to appeal

  • From the in-app strike banner, tap “Appeal”.
  • From the suspension or ban screen, follow the “Appeal” link.
  • Or email appeals@cr8tivehub.com with your username, the date of the decision, and your explanation.

Our process

  • We acknowledge your appeal within 5 business days.
  • A reviewer who was not involved in the original decision examines the appeal.
  • We respond with a final decision within 14 business days.
  • If your appeal succeeds, the strike is expunged, the suspension is lifted, and (where appropriate) the content is restored.

Appeals against permanent bans for CSAM or other illegal conduct are accepted only on the narrow grounds of mistaken identity or platform error.

7. Transparency

Once a year — first report due Q1 2027 covering calendar 2026 — we publish an aggregate Transparency Report at cr8tivehub.com/transparency:

  • Number of reports received, by category.
  • Number of items actioned, by category.
  • Number of accounts warned, suspended, terminated.
  • Number of CSAM reports made to SAPS.
  • Number of copyright takedown notices received and processed.
  • Number of government / law-enforcement data requests received and complied with.
  • Number of appeals received and the outcome distribution.

No personal information of users, reporters, or victims appears in the Transparency Report.

8. Reviewer Conduct and Wellness

Trust & Safety reviewers are vetted, trained, and bound by a written confidentiality undertaking. They have access to confidential counselling at the company's cost. Caseloads are limited for psychologically taxing categories (CSAM, NCII, graphic violence). No reviewer makes decisions alone on the most severe categories.

9. Working with Law Enforcement

We respond to lawful requests from the South African Police Service and other lawful investigating authorities. Our standard is:

  • We require a lawful instrument (subpoena, search warrant, court order) for the disclosure of user data, except in narrowly defined emergencies where the safety of life is at risk.
  • We preserve evidence on receipt of a valid preservation request, even before formal disclosure.
  • We notify the user of a request unless the law or a court order prohibits notification.
